Kars is the leading wholesale trader of hobby supplies in the Netherlands and Belgium. With approximately 18.500 items in stock Kars has the most extensive assortment. Orders from this sorting are delivered to over 4.000 stores in more than 25 countries, but mainly the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, Austria and Great Britain.
In 1978, Kars started out in Kesteren, in the middle of the Betuwe region in the Netherlands, as a wholesale trader in creative materials. With resourcefulness and an eye for creativity and customer relations the company has expanded greatly over the last few years. The key to Kars’ success is its focus on trend oriented design.
Nowadays, over 120 people work for Kars in Europe and the distribution centre at Ochten has been expanded to almost 90.000 square feet in 2003. We have our own sales organisations in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, Austria and Great Britain. All employees are enthusiastic and have the will to succeed. Most of them are young people that have brought the company to where it is now. Care for continuity for over a quarter of a century. This means drudging and that is what characterises our company. The will to ensure a good product, continuity and satisfied customers!
The power of our company is its focus on creating the latest designs. In order to accomplish this, we have a strong purchase department and product management that cooperate with many designers, authors of hobby books and demonstrators. Besides that, Kars works closely with many manufacturers of brand hobby articles for which Kars has been taking care of the exclusive distribution in various European countries for many years and with great success. Kars acknowledges that information and education are essential. That why there is a close cooperation with many publishers of books and magazines. Workshops and demonstrations are organised in every area in which Kars is active. Knowledge of how products work is a primary condition for success. That is why we organise thousands of demonstrations for consumers and we educate sales personnel of stores through workshops. The drive to educate is another key to Kars’ success! Kars has grown into one of the leading hobby suppliers in France, Great Britain and Germany. Recently, Kars has won the “Trophy of the Smac” in France and was chosen as the best hobby supplier by all French customers. However, the Benelux remains our basis.
